Alright, I might as well start this blog off with introducing myself.
Although my true name is Jordan, almost everyone calls me Jo, Jordy, or JoJo (two of which I’m not overly fond of). I’m an 18 year-old college student aspiring to own a wildlife rescue one day, but for now I’m stuck with exams and a serious caffeine addiction. Personally, I’m an introvert and would gladly volunteer to get trapped in a cabin, alone, and in a snow storm. I do love meeting new people, it’s just a bit more intimidating for me, to you know, actually go up and talk to them. *shivers* Maybe I can just write people letters for the rest of my life? When you do get to know me, I’m actually quite loud, very smiley, and laugh like nobody’s business.
Animal-wise, let’s just say I have my own personal zoo at my house. I have a great dane, a rescued flying squirrel, an African Spur Tortoise in my backyard, two fish tanks, and a horse. As you can tell, I have a passion for animals, hence why I’m on the long, LONG road to becoming a veterinarian. However, I don’t want to be a small animal vet. No no. I’m aiming on helping much larger animals such as elephants, rhinos, lions, etc. Don’t get me wrong, I love dogs and cats, but there are already plenty of people helping them. Large animal conservation/rescue projects are in bit of a need for more hands on deck.
In my spare time, I enjoy photography, traveling, and reading books. Now I say that so casually, but you have no idea. No..Idea.. There’s a reason this blog is called Fictional Wings and it has to do with the fact that I am a MASSIVE bookworm. Seriously, I was that girl in the back of the class with her nose stuck in a book instead of paying attention to the Charlie Brown version of a teacher.
“Wah Waah Wah…”
Now, photography has been something I’ve only recently started getting good at. It took me while and after several failed attempts with photoshop, I finally started getting the hang of it. After that, I sort of just took off. Whether it’s just a fun photoshoot day with some of my sister’s friends or a paid job, taking pictures is incredibly satisfying to me. Having the opportunity to show someone how beautiful they are is a gift and seeing them smile at themselves is one of the most rewarding things I could ever ask for.
Then, when I’m traveling around the world with my family, I’m usually the one responsible for taking the those “cute family vacation pictures.” My family is huge into traveling and we’ve been to so many locations such as Costa Rica, Cuba, Mexico, all around the United States, and many more. Every time I go to a new place, I get to meet new people, experience different cultures, and taste delicious foods. Naturally, you can see why I love this.
Well that about sums up a good part of me, if not all. If you have any questions about me or anything I mentioned, feel free to leave a comment and I’d love to respond!
